Kim represents clients in business, real estate, and employment litigation. Kim began his career by helping recover millions in settlements and judgments for his personal injury clients, ranging from minor incidents to wrongful deaths. This early experience shaped his ability to evaluate damages, build compelling cases, and negotiate effectively. He also regularly assisted defense attorneys representing individuals, public entities, and private corporations against personal injury claims, giving him valuable insight into both sides of litigation.
Kim also developed a notable background in special education law, where he represented students with disabilities in disputes with public school districts. His work focused on ensuring that students received the services and accommodations necessary to access a meaningful education. In one significant case, Kim successfully argued that a preschool-aged child with disabilities was entitled to placement in a private school at the expense of the public school district in order to interact with typically developing peers. The school district disagreed, claiming that preschool education is not mandatory under California law. The administrative judge ruled in Kim’s favor, and he went on to successfully defend that decision on appeal in federal district court. Building on that success, Kim advanced the same legal argument in subsequent cases against other school districts, obtaining additional favorable administrative decisions and federal court rulings. He then leveraged this body of precedent to secure similar outcomes for numerous clients through negotiated settlements.
